Moore Insight Celebrates its 2nd Living Wage Anniversary

For 2 years, we have stood with the Living Wage Foundation to support their principle: "A hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay" (The Living Wage Foundation, 2021).

There is no doubt that social and economic development are driven by industry; and industry is driven by people. We believe that every single employee should be treated, and live like the valued and hardworking individual they are.

This year, a year where personal and professional uncertainty has been overwhelmingly present, we are prouder than ever to be an accredited Living Wage Employer. Although such certainty is set to continue, we are confident that hard work, and a wage that rewards this, is more important than ever. The Living Wage will ensure that "workers and families are protected from the challenges that lie ahead" (The Living Wage Foundation, 2021), and that social and economic development continue.

The Living Wage is not only a symbol of social progress, or a generous gesture from an employer - it is underpinned by a clear methodology, with a calculation based on up to date information about living standards and costs. The methodology was developed in 2016 by the Resolution Foundation, and has been revised this year as a result of the challenges of Covid-19, to better support employees.

As with anything, wherever support is needed, understanding is needed more. By reviewing the most current living standards and costs, and the coexisting external context, the Resolution Foundation can assure that they calculate a wage that will best support employees.

Our 'best for all' approach to social value, encourages us to consider and support all of our stakeholders - not only our clients. This starts within our team, and was the driving force behind our decision to become a Living Wage Employer.

As industry begins to rebuild itself, employees require more support than ever before! As a Living Wage employer, and a firm believer in stakeholder value, we vow to not only support our team, but to encourage all other organisations to do the same, starting by living up to this principle: "A hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay" (The Living Wage Foundation, 2021).
