Moore Insight Celebrates World Environment Day by supporting Woodland Trust to save Snaizeholme, North Yorkshire

Leading up to World Environment Day on June 5, 2021, Moore Insight is supporting the Woodland Trust in its efforts to save Snaizeholme in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a 550 acre area of land with tree cover of less than 5%.

Deforestation has impacted a significant amount of England’s forest lands, which are critical to biodiversity, when the natural world is in crisis. Snaizeholme is currently a tree-less landscape, but with the help of Woodland Trust, it could be turned into a flourishing haven for red squirrels and declining woodland birds.

Why is Snaizeholme important?
  • The restoration of Snaizeholme would mean the protection of an existing red squirrel reserve, a native species which is now in danger.
  • Woodland birds would find a home in the area, as a habitat would be created for threatened wildlife.
  • A large part of Yorkshire Dales is currently in need of woodland creation, in order to tackle the catastrophic loss of nature.
Kate Hill, Business Development & Marketing Manager at Moore Insight, says:

"At Moore Insight, we are absolutely focused on doing all that we can to support environmental and woodland regeneration efforts. We believe that it is our responsibility to play an active role in the protection of our natural world. With our strong commitment to Social Value when working with our clients and through our own Corporate Sustainability initiatives, we are committed to preserve our world’s resources, which are essential for the quality of life of current and future generations."

Kate is leading on the sixth part of the Moore Global Social Ambition strategy, focusing on our impact on the world and what we leave behind for future generations. She is also Moore Insight’s Social Value Co-ordinator for client projects.

If you would like to see the UK rich in native woodland and trees, which also improves air quality for us all, we encourage you to join us on this journey.
